Reading the report in context
A First Examination Report, often called an FER, sets out objections or requirements identified during examination. It should be considered with the application record, the cited material and the procedural position.
Planning a response
A response may involve technical explanation, legal submissions, amendments where support exists in the original disclosure, or a combination of these. The strategy will depend on the application and the specific objections.
Keep the deadline visible
Examination deadlines are important. Early review gives applicants more time to gather technical input and consider the available options.
